CoComelon to Join Disney Plus Starting in 2027

Disney Plus will become the new streaming home for CoComelon outside of YouTube beginning in 2027, according to Bloomberg. All eight seasons of the wildly popular children’s show will move from Netflix, where it has been available since 2020. CoComelon, known for its simple CG-animated vignettes set to nursery rhymes, has been a major player in children’s programming, amassing 601 million Netflix views in 2023 and ranking as the second most-streamed show on the platform that year. Despite a reported 60% drop in viewership over recent years, the show remains a significant asset for Disney, which is expected to pay tens of millions annually for the rights. Additionally, the first CoComelon movie is set to hit theaters in 2027.
